About the University

The Queer University Video Capacity Building Training (aka Queer University) is a seven-day training program for people working and/or volunteering in sexual minority communities. During the interactive and practice-oriented Queer University course, students are trained in documentary filmmaking, editing, production and distribution, and are empowered to use learned skills to record their own community stories and enhance their advocacy activities. Every year, the Queer University awards its most excellent students with year-long material support and creative guidance, thus helping them in directing and producing their own full-length documentary.
